MISSION STATEMENT

It is the objective of this Association to achieve the following:

(a) To build the most effective organization possible to protect the interests of everyone connected with the housing industry in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. This includes not only builders, but tradesmen, subcontractors, labor, financial institutions, and all people who make their living from the building and development business. It is the objective of this Association to maintain a continuing dialogue with all levels of government, both state and local, to exchange ideas, to have a strong liaison with all governmental committees as well as such municipal bodies and their supporting planning boards, boards of adjustment and other agencies.

(b) To enlarge the scope of the Association so as to render services to the membership that, individually, the members have neither time nor resources to obtain.

(c) To assist in the accomplishments of the mutual objectives of the National Association of Home Builders of the United States and the New Jersey Builders Association.
(d) To further protect environmental qualities to the betterment of the industry and the communities it serves; to seek to cooperate with various governmental agencies to promote the legitimate and proper needs of the industry and of the public.

Section 2. The three primary functions of the Association are as follows:

(a) Legal Function - To provide advice and to render opinions pertaining to all of the approval processes affecting the building industry on the state, county and municipal levels of government; to maintain surveillance, review and analysis of all governmental activities, whether state, county or local in nature, which affect the building industry, whether legislative, executive or judicial in form and scope; to maintain liaison with all levels of government; and to initiate, defend, or otherwise participate in litigation which has or may well produce a precedent-setting impact upon the building industry in accordance with the established guidelines for legal action.

(b) Products and Services - To obtain and disseminate information on products, suppliers, subcontractors, financing packages, mortgage availability, financial institutions, and to maintain a liaison with labor leaders.

(c) Membership - To maintain and increase the qualified membership of the Association by providing services not otherwise readily available, to establish and maintain criteria and standards for membership in the Association which will maintain and enhance the public credibility of the Association as the authoritative, informative, and representative voice of the building industry in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and to revoke or withhold membership to those who are not dedicated to the betterment of the building industry through collective action.
